    amps

    hi! been outta scene for awhile.whats the best bang for the buck combo amp for thrash? speed metal? I use to play through peavey chorus,peavey bandit.crate 2x10. I will be using a Jackson soloist with Seymour duncans. should I save up for a semi/full stack with head? never owned a tube but have played through them.if recommend tube.whats best bang for buck? in order? 1-marshall 2-peavey-etc...etc..? playing will be in small room/garage.thanks!

    If your not playing live one of the mini heads will do you, look for a used 6505 mini head and a decent 2x12, if your in the US used Mesa.

    EVH 5150 Combo's are amazing for what they are.

    I love the Wattage control on them and they still sound great even at a super low volume. My favorite is the 2x12 version.

    For bedroom jamming and maybe an occasional meetup with some guys? Bang for buck? Boss Katana is pretty high up there on the list.

    would the mini head be enough wattage to run 2-12's?

    what about the peavey trans tube combo 2x12? just looking to put more money into a guitar and then save up for an awesome amp. or should I do vice-versa? shotty guitar with awesome humbuckers,and a good amp set-up? sorry guys! newbie trying to figure out the best set-up just to start shreddin'
