I'd argue a really good mic pre in general makes a way bigger difference than whether or not there's a tube in it somewhere.

But, nothing says corksniffer cred like a fancy mic pre with lots of knobs and a big VU meter!

    A 1/6th octave mastering eq.
A couple of analog tube compressors/limiters - can be found in space-saving 9½" format, so, two in one slot.
    An Engl e530.
An ADA MP2 ('cause I'm selling one of mine )

Something with lots of blinky lights on it, because blinky lights = toan.

2U: Torpedo Studio. I love mine, and it is beyond awesome.

1U: Triaxis. Fuck not needing more preamps, you need one
1U: Torpedo Live. Use power amp simulation on it for the triaxis.

Seriously though, you need a triaxis.

Optionally, you could always put a sliding rack shelf in it, and just populate it with fun pedal effects and loop that into an insert in the sound card so you can then spend money on analogue effects for toan (apparently)
