Kiesel became popular because a dickhead went and stamped his name on an already popular and well known company.

Are forums worth anything now-a-days? Was buying ss.org a wise investment on his part?

Actually, Kiesel was a paid sponsor on the site and that came with I think a 15% discount on stuff for mods/admins. When the first person with the really fucked up guitar and customer service popped up, it went full pitchforks and torches, and Jeff called Alex and told he wanted all of his branding taken off the site.

Kiesel guitars and the /7/ community. A match made in heaven.
