The Helix is post-Yamaha buying Line 6, no?

Mine arrived yesterday. haven't had a lot of time to mess with it yet but I was able to dial in a decent metal tone (Badonk). Really like the the delays and reverbs / effects in general. LOTS of options just in effects alone.
Absolutely can not stand the power brick / wall wart. WTF were they thinking with that.

Honestly I have barely had any time at all to mess with it. I need to download the Helix edit software and dig in. I'm guessing the Revv or Archon models will be most to my liking. Also from what I hear third party IRs really change the game. So I'll probably get a few from ML and see what's doing. Gotta reconfigure my board as well. Gonna do a pretty minimalist digital rig and just keep a couple of actual pedals as I can use the Stomp for most effects and modulation if I want to use one of my real amps. I still need to keep one real OD pedal although I just sold my Bodenhamers which I will probably regret. 😂

I totally get the L6 hate for the Spider amps alone, but I've always dug the pod/Helix stuff I've had. Maybe I'll keep the sticker on to deflect Chris' incessant Stomp bullying.

I havent always been opposed to the L6 thing but I was never all in. about 2 years ago I bought a helix because I have babbies at home and the places (church) I play are all on in ear monitors and want quiet stages so I havent actually hear my amp while playing in close to 3 years and even longer since I played live with a real amp at my feet. Most of the time it has been in a closet.

I recommend the L6 stuff but if you have the place to play a real amp, then that will always be better IMO.

Note that I have not removed the screen protection sticker

Have not mounted it to my board either.
