    Mesa 112 “Solid” speaker?

A local guy is trying to sell me his Mesa 112 cab and it has a speaker in it with a red sticker on the back of the magnet that says Sica Solids on it.

Any idea what this is, what it’s worth and if it’s worth buying? It has a removable panel on the back to roll either open or closed back, which is kinda cool.

Zero idea wtf that is, other than just an aftermarket speaker shoved into a Mesa cab. FWIW, I got an open-back Mesa 1x12 with a C90 for $300 IIRC. I felt that was a decent price, even without the removeable panel, though that's something that's never been on my list of things to get. Maybe if you're going from a V30 (better in closed-back, IMO) to a C90 (better in open-back, IMO), but then, you could just have a second whole back panel to avoid superfluous seams.

Pass on this one but do get yourself a C90’d Mesa 112. They are the goods.

So, the guy is dropping the price and I'm considering it again. But, for the life of me I can't find a cab like this anywhere on the net, so I figured one of y'all Mesa-lovers would have to know something about it. It has, what I think is, a really old metal badge logo:

The back has a removable panel so you can use it open or close backed.

    Sound familiar to anyone?

My 112 is a '90, and it had the familiar (and current) Mesa Engineering badge on it. I've never seen a badge like that, and I used to see one off prototypes from Mesa all the time at Alto Music in Middletown NY (that was 20+ years ago).

This thing gives me the willies. Unless it's like $100 and you can plug it in and try it out beforehand, hard pass.
