    behringer pedals

I need some pedals on a budget I need a noise gate and an overdrive

I heard good things about behringer pedals, is this true? if not what are their other ODs like?

also the NR100 and NR300 are supposedly very similar to the boss NS-2is this true? and does anybody know the difference between the NR100 and the NR300?

and are there any other budget overdrives or noise gates anyone recommend?
    Kind regards

I wouldnt bother with those for the fact of the plastic housing. Some people claim they hold up but I wouldnt trust them. These days, there are plenty of better pedals on the cheap. There is the "counterfeit" chinese stuff that goes by multiple names or even the joyo stuff. In terms of a boss ns-2 clone, I hated the ns-2 and got rid of it years ago so I wouldnt touch a clone of it.

for budget noise gates I preferred the mooer noise killer over the Behringer one. I cant remember which Behringer one it was, but it was basically a clone of the NS-2.

the noise killer was a clone of the decimator. it didn't have a loop, but it was much more transparent if preserving your tone is important to you. there is another one called the noise killer from Donner - it looks like a rebranded version and is half the price - I don't know if its the same thing in a different coloured box but its worth looking into.

for boosts, i'm using a TC spark as its got a few different modes and cost about £35 new - it does an ok tubescreamer impression. otherwise that's the only budget boost I've used so maybe someone else can help you there.

edit: that rowan one looks just like the donner and mooer ones - id give it a whirl if its not too expensive.

the rowan and donner ones are exactly the same. Just depends where you buy from.

As I sit here with a brand new Earthquaker Plumes OD sitting on my desk that has yet to be plugged in for the 6 weeks or so that I've had it... I really do not miss my days of "budget" gear

There is no limit to the amount of money that Leon will spend on amps and gear. However his guitar budget is like $200. He's the weirdest cork sniffer ever.
