The HM-2 being usable in a normal scenario is sacrilege. The pedal sounds awful, that's the whole gimmick! If your amp doesnt sound like it's about to explode every time you palm-mute, then why are you even using one of those things? If you want "regular" or "usable" tone, get a TS9 or something, you posers.
    C'mon son.

I'm working on a project at the moment which requires an HM2 sound, I picked up a Grindstein so I can try a 'Modern take' on one.

How is the Grindstein? I have been looking at that for awhile now. It comes with Kemper profiles right?

I got weirdly tempted by the Waza MT-2 the other week, no idea why... But it also got me missing my old HM-2, again no idea why as it sounded like shit.

Funny since David Gilmour did exactly that during the Momentary Lapse era. EMGs through the HM2 and lots of EQ units and it still sounded like him. The rig was practically a middle finger to everyone who heralded him as the poster boy for pure straight to amp tone.

It's really cool, kinda hard to tell how far to go with it until it's in the mix, I think a lot of the Swedish sound comes from the bass. I'm in the middle of the project at the moment and trying to be patient until I get to guitars and have a chance to mess with it properly.

It comes with the following power amp/cab profiles:

    Engl Savage 60 > Mesa OS - 3 Variations
    Brunetti > Mesa OS
    Brunetti XL > Mesa OS
    Brunetti XL > THC 4x12
    Mesa RoadKing > Mesa OS
    JCM800 2204 > 1960AV
