Modeling amps/preamps/whatever are overrated; you don’t NEED 270+ amps just in case.

EL84’s only belong in a Vox (or Vox-like amp).

Not everything needs a goddamned overdrive.

Boutique doesn’t automatically = better. It might, it might not. 99% of boutique is just based on a CE-2, a TS9/808, Phase 90, Klon, Electric Mistress or Rat anyway.

Miking still sounds better than whatever sweet new IR of the week.

Strandbergs are stupid. You’re playing guitar, not worrying about your ergonomics at your desk gig.

5. Micing sounds good if you have the room and means. Most people dont. IRs are fine most people wont notice anyway.
6: Only one I have ever liked was a 5k custom shop one. Everything else felt weird to me.

- Modeler haters don't understand modelers. If you get 5 great sounding amp models that you like out of your Kemper it's done the job. It may have 300 models in it but you don't have to give a shit about every single one of them.

- EL84s have their place. My Mesa 20/20 sounds awesome with them, though I do wonder why the fan in it is 4x as loud as my 2:90...

- IRs are better than mic'd cabs because most people don't have the skill and/or take the time to mic their cab properly. It's not fucking rocket science, it's just capturing sound. There's no difference between an impulse and your SM57.

- C90s > v30s
