    Kemper Users......

I've just ordered a Kemper, got a few questions for people who are experienced with them:

    - What are good metal tones are around? (I'm looking for six string grinding tones, this unit will be an 8 string/'Quacking Djent tone' free zone). I'm looking for 5153's, Mark V's etc although I wouldn't mind a few decent Recto/5150's just for completeness

    - What method can I use to replicate the tone from my album in it? I've got all the individual re-amp tracks to match from (bonus info, found out that Mike from Devildriver has tone matched the tracks on his Axe-Fx for live work. Whenever your hear them live, know that I PAID FOR HIS TONE!!!!! )

Fluff's packs sound pretty awesome in all the examples I've seen.

Great, just downloaded them in anticipation of dousing my tone boner when it turns up.

head over to the rig exchange on the Kemper site and search for any amp, there are some amazing profiles there. It is also worth mentioning that if you find a killer sounding profile, export the cab from it and save it, the cab tends to make or break a lot of profiles and you will find it handy having a few solid cabs saved

I might be very wrong, but it was my understanding that the Kemper needs to play its signal through an amp and cab to match it. I don't think it can just 'listen' to a recording and profile it. That's more AFX territory. Is that not so?

I wasn't aware that an A-FX could profile tones like the kemper.

It just needs to listen, dude. I think that's how it gets its sounds to begin with; profiling amps. Whether that signal is a recording or an amp, it's all the same to it. Keith Merrow even profiled a Kemper with an AFX for ultimate

I think the KPA can do it direct too.

I have raw *.wav files of tele and I want to play them through Kemper Profling Amplifier - Kemper Profiler related discussions - Kemper Amps Forum

It can, they just call it tone matching instead.
