I borrowed a Studio with P90's off an old work colleague many years ago, that thing absolutely screamed. So this must be pretty damn awesome

    Thank guys -

Truthfully, when I pulled the trigger on this, I thought it was ugly. I was going by the photos on Zzounds and didn't care much for the color or the burst. I bought it because of price and because it was the double P90 Les Paul (not a slab) that I'd wanted for a long time. Can't tell you how many times I looked at P90 gold tops on Craigslist that I couldn't afford.

After looking at more online images of this model and color, I came around a little but was still not thrilled with the color.

When I unboxed her last night, I was jazzed. She looked a lot better than I'd imagined. And the tone is like beer goggles, man. I tuned, plugged in, and cranked it. Stoner rock... right off the bat.

I started riffing heavy, greasy stuff without making any changes to amp settings or pedals. Blues Driver into the Origin.

So yeah, I joke about bringing home an ugly chick, but I'm diggin' it.
All I can ask is that I suck a little less each time I pick up my guitar...

Yeah, I'm not seeing any ugly there, at all.

A LP with P90s is just pure snarl.

The only thing ugly on that are the stupid VOLUME/TONE knobs. Put amber speed knobs (and some cream covers) on that at once.

I've been thinking about the knobs. I will find something - won't be speed knobs, but I'll find something different.

I'd considered going with amber knobs and switch, cream poker chip and pup covers... but the one I saw done that way had cream binding. This has bright white binding and I'm wondering how it would look.

I'm going to live with everything but the knobs for right now and just play the Hell out of it.

I like the knobs and cream pup covers only look good on P90 gold tops. Leave it be

The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No.” ― Alan Moore

As you can see, the satin finish shows fingerprints.

I'm liking that top more and more.

That thing is gorgeous! Ugly chick my ass. P90’s rule! I have a LP doublecut with P90’s and it’s raunchy.
