For straight rhythms I don't mind a fixed bridge but for leads I feel like I'm missing a limb if I don't have one. I do way too many harmonic dive bombs and slurs to get from one note to the other.

I could never own one type of guitar to the exclusion of all the other types. If all my guitars had floyds I'd sell half and replace them with guitars without them. Yesterday I played my Jem, my #1 Tele and my AS-200. That's what works for me.

A Floyd Rose, or more generally, a double locking tremolo system is not about just doing dive bombs. If that's all you do with it, its a bit of a waste.

Tremolo work can be very expressive when used right. I personally prefer guitars with trems. It just adds more possibilities. Even if you're not playing leads, there's so much you can do with them.

I've found that if it doesn't stay in tune, then it wasn't set up properly or isn't a floyd.

I actually don't have an issue with Floyds. I was responding to the "neutered dog" remark.

All of this to stay in tune and do wank-off divebombs, no thanks.
