    Have you tried it yet? You might just play with it for a bit before deciding to swap it. Mine wasn't that dark.

    Evidently the popular mod is to remove the Seth from the tone control, which should brighten it up. I'll give that a shot this weekend coming and see if it helps a bit.

    Thought you might be interested Joe, I'm going to try and do this on Saturday if it rains, but if it's sunny it will wait a while

    Disconnect the wire where the red blob is, and add the new red wire. This will disconnect the Seth from the tone pot entirely and I've been told improve the overall sound of the pickup quite a bit.

    Solder the neck pickup straight to the output jack and call it a day.
