EVH bought the guitar along with a second 'Burst' from Norman's Rare Guitars in the late 1970s for $6500. How much do think this guitar worth be worth today?
He's got the Malcolm Young signature neck pickup going, and the switch appears to be falling out. Never seen that particular Van Halen guitar, so sort of interesting.
The guitarists sprang for matching (hideous) shirts, but apparently couldn't be arsed to find matching trousers. The bassist, on the other hand, was clearly too cool for all that matching shirt crap.
I passed on a burst for less than that in the 70's. It was in the years after "The Song Remains the Same" hit theaters that prices started to skyrocket upwards; slowly at first, but steady
