    Also, if you really want to be able to pull up higher, you can shim the neck and raise the bridge for additional travel.

    This can work. But it's not gonna change the pitch range a lot tho, but maybe enough. Try it out, it's easily reversible if you don't find it useful

    When you pull up, the end of the arm that screws into the trem(black bolt in the picture) is being stopped against the body.

    You can remove some wood from that area (maybe 1/4 to 3/8"), but don't go too far or you'll hit the post anchor.
