Well, my two big excuses are money...I'm not broke, but haven't been smitten enough by any guitar lately to splurge. Another is that I haven't put in the time to practice as much as I should. My skills have stagnated, so any upgrade in workmanship or quality would be lost on me, at this point.

In the last year I've gotten a divorce, moved out and got set up on my own, and started a new job where I work 50-60 hours a week. I've also been considering just buying a dinky or soloist body to swap out for the partscaster King V that I made a few years back. I just never got along with the shape and hate to see a guitar literally gathering dust.

But yes, I need to get back into shape, playing-wise. I'm back at the dating game and most women are like "oooh, you're a musician?" Well, not exactly. If you want to hear a crappy version of "Master of Puppets"...I'm your man.

I bet the realtor can’t wait to see houses compared with MS Paint.

I've thinned the herd by trading multiple guitars for a couple of better ones, but I haven't bought anything with straight-up cash for awhile. I've had tuition payments for two little kids, so spare money has been hard to come by lately. Plus, I've basically got most of what I want. Too many Soloists, actually. It's possible I'm going to upgrade my 24.75" shred guitar situation in the near future.

"Upgrading my 24.75" shred guitar situation" is a very sneaky way of really saying "BUYING GUITARS!!!"
