Anybody checked these out? I don't quite get the business arrangement. They're made by Grover Jackson by the looks of things, but Dave gets to stamp his name on the headstock? Or is he the "designer"?

    Unsurprisingly, I quite dig this

But when, oh god just when, will relic'ing die off?

They're nice guitars. Not $3K nice - the one I played wan't much better than the Charvel next to it - but, if you have to have cachet, you could do worse.

I am also tired of relic-ing.

Yeah, cool guitar but 3k+ and they are all relic'd from what I can see, no thanks. He talks about the Mojo they get from reliking, I can do without that secret sauce thanks. I can find Suhrs and Custom shop Charvels for less that are just as nice.

I really don't get paying $3k for one of these. I'm sure they're nice guitars, though.

I guess since most of us are relics, playing a relic just reminds us all of how close to death we all are

also, friedman guitars, guitars for people with too much money and too much wall space

I'm glad I'm not the only one - I looked at 'em and was like "ummm... no thanks..." the whole reliking reminds me of the people who pay too much money for "pre-ripped" jeans... a guitar that looks like that is cool if the reliking was done over the course of hundreds of gigs and thousands of practices, not the workbench of a luthier, but clearly many out there disagree with me.

This is like a reverse of PRS - guitar company making amps that sell at the same price point as their guitars, even though they suck and aren't anywhere near as good as their guitars. Every PRS amp I've played through has sounded like utter dog shit. But I guess once you've earned that "prestige" level with your main business venture, every thing else you do will naturally follow suit.

These probably are up there in terms of their craftsmanship with Suhr, PRS etc, but there's just something that feels a little disingenuous when a company specialising in one field jumps into another one with the same level of prestige.
