Its pretty rare i fall in love with a guitar but this thing has stolen my heart lol. Only problem is it only released as a 7 string and i only play 8s. I pray an 8 version gets released during an upcoming namm. Does anyone have the secret lowdown on a possible future release?Chance of an 8 string version of ibanez RGD71ALMS releasing?-ibanez-rgd71alms-bam-axion-label-black-aurora-burst-matte-front_1568564539665-jpg

    Ever tried an Ibanez multiscale?

The perpendicular 12th fret is a fucking flop and a half with these.

FWIW my brother in law has the 7 string version of this and it's his new #1.

I wouldn't hold my breath for an exact copy in an 8 though. Everything I've heard seems to indicate that model in that spec was a 'one off'.

Somewhere in an Ibanez design room...

Probably not far off. The RGD was seemingly a mashup of the EBMM JP15 and the Ibby JPM.

Based on the RGD mulitscale releases, I'm going to guess that an 8 string variant may come out in year or so. I could be wrong though.

I actually wanted to buy the 7 but people took forever to get them in stock so I started looking around a bit more and settled on the Merrow and could not be happier. I have noticed since switching to a custom Stringjoy balanced tension strings I don't really have a need for the multiscale now.

for the price they are asking for those I think I would go Ormsby instead (and they make an 8 to boot)
