Here's a somewhat-belated NGD (it's been a month or so). I really liked the Tele but didn't get along with how it played when I was standing up, and wanted something with some sort of hum-canceling pickups as my main guitar.
I didn't go out specifically looking for an SG, but I've always really dug them. I went into a shop that had something like 7 Gibson SGs all hanging up together, and got to play them all and pick the one I got along with the best. This one's a bit weird - the string tension was stiffer than the rest of them. I like the extra stiffness and this one was the loudest and rang out the best, plus it's black.
It's a 2019 and was marked as used - it's got a really light finish scratch on the top and a decent scratch on the poker chip, so my guess is it was new and got damaged in the store. It's got the PCB controls, which I'm not crazy about but it doesn't bug me enough to change them out. Also, for some strange reason, Gibson doesn't shield their control cavities, so it was getting pretty bad EFI noise. I shielded the cavity cover, and ran a little strip of copper tape down the cavity wall and grounded it to the output jack, and that took care of it thankfully.
Here are a couple photos, which are all I could be bothered to take right now.
