    It can work. But it requires a really choice finish and a shape that without the abalone doesn't stand out very much. Pretty much the polar opposite of a BC Rich which is gaudy as fuck with a black finish and a blank fretboard.

    Still outside of Gibson and Fender I'd argue BC Rich has the most iconic guitar shapes. I'd happily sell my PRS SE to get a mockingbird of similar quality.
