    At least since 1994. Although the original SL2s from Indonesia had the correct switching and placement. Now they still have a 3 way, but the control layout sucks.

    On a Strat with 3 pickups OK, other that that a toggle and if you like split coils push pull pots give you loads of options.

    I HATE toggles. Even on a three way, give me a blade. If nothing else you can easily swap it out for a 5-way if you want to get creative with the wiring.
