    N(old)BD: Moose Edition

Moose has been part of pretty much everything I’ve ever done musically, so it only made sense to inherit his bass and use it for my Red Winter tracks and such going forward.

This thing has a crazy story. He got it brand new in 1994 and we used it to record all the Scab demos and compilation disc tracks. He loaned it to a good close friend of ours in 1997 who “lost” it soon thereafter. We later discovered that by “lost” he meant he pawned it for drug money - talk about falling off the close friends list with a quickness...

Then a few years ago, Moose found it on eBay, bid and won it and got it back. Since he’s been too sick lately to play it, when I got it today the poor thing was seriously neglected. I spent an hour cleaning it up as best I could til I can get it home and really shine it up, then snapped a quick pic.

I know it’s just an Ibanez EXB445, but it’s instantly on my “never sell” list. Can’t wait to record some tracks in his honor with it.

sweet bass dude. being stolen and found again is one of the coolest backstories any instrument can have. maybe it gained some mojo while it was out seeing the world.
