    Tele bridge singlecoil pickup suggestions?

I recently refretted a 70's Greco Telecaster Custom for a friend. It was the first time ive tried a tele singlecoil bridge through my setup and it was glorious. This coming winter i'll be building a few guitars. One of which will have a tele bridge. Now i need to find a pickup to go with it. Any recommendations? I know next to nothing about singlecoil pups.

Im only planning to have a single coil bridge at this stage.

I dont plan to play metal with it but id like to get a good rock sound out of it. The Greco sounded pretty weak clean but when i added a distortion pedal (Dod250, ect.. ) it came alive. It was really bright but it had great note definition and with the tone rolled back some i got past the brightness.

Also, what guitar shapes look good with a tele trem (fixed)? Not sure if i want a tele shaped body on this build. Atm, leaning towards a Albert Lee Musicman shape.

    Cheers!

This would depend...do you want it to sound like a Tele? Then Broadcaster or Antiquity pickups. If you are looking for different sounds, there will be other options.

Call me sick and twisted, butI've always wanted a Gibson Flying V with a tele neck and bridge.

Never played one, but based on their Strat pickups I'd give strong consideration to Suhr's Classic T's or Woodsheds.

David Allen makes great single coils. My favorite by far if you're not into the noiselless/hum-cancelling variety.

I have some Van Zandt tele pickups as well and they sound great. The link below has a Zep cover that I did with the Thinline Tele equipped with the VanZandts. No pedals. Its just guitar into the amp with no post-processing on the guitar at all.

If you want vintage tele, get any of the one mentioned above.

If you want a little hotter, can do rock hard rock, get the Fender Tele Texas Special. Hands down my favorite bridge single coil.

No matter what you do, do NOT buy a Duncan Quarter Pounder Tele bridge. It is the worst pickup I have ever played.

Check out the offerings from Lindy Fralin, as well. He winds several bridge pups - different models based upon your tastes.
All I can ask is that I suck a little less each time I pick up my guitar...
