Just ordered an Irongear Jailhouse Rail II

I run an HS set up, which I have on my charvel. It started out as HH but it didn't stay that way for long. I love the functional diversity of HS.

I've had a few true single coils, some hum free singles, and some single coil sized humbuckers. Best of the bunch was the Dimarzio Chopper, but I currently have a Seymour Duncan STK-S1n, which is a noiseless single that comes in a lot of HSS Jackson's.

It's... ok. Underpowered and a bit vanilla.

Anyway since I keep seeing rave reviews about the Irongear stuff I grabbed one of their rail singles

IronGear Pickups - Jailhouse Rail II

    Should arrive tomorrow.

    Anybody used them?

Cant comment on that one in particular but all the iron gears I've tried have been great.

Hot slags! thick and rich sounding

Also the steamhammer briefly, it's more clinical but still great sounding

I've got Hot Slags, and for a while had an older rail paired with a slag. Was ok, but a bit dark if I remember correctly.

Sounds like a vintage police themed porn series that started out classy like a more explicit rip off version of Shaft (his catch phrase is, "You've just been railed" while he looks directly at the camera and some horn heavy music plays) but the titles started out oblique and clever but got more and more tasteless as time went on.
