Did some work on my sunburst Charvel mutt.

Ordered a pickguard from Dragonfire, because the white pearl was starting to yellow real bad, and looked tacky.

Drilled some holes, installed it, trimmed around the neck pocket(wasn't too much to take off):

I have a plain white switch tip coming soon, that off-white is pretty much creme.

While I had the guitar apart I installed some brass inserts into the neck:

Not exactly the cleanest work I've done, but it'll do the job. I also installed some into my green mutt as well. Both necks were starting to get some stripping issues, and I wanted to head that off now. I did not have to do this to the Purple USA guitar, so I don't know if this was just due to the previous owners of my MIJ Charvel necks.

Oh, and a couple porn shots:

Man that looks nice... The neck mounting holes on my new Charvel haven't stripped yet, but they started to on my old one. I should really invest in some inserts... Wouldn't be an issue if you didn't have to take the damn neck off every time you wanna make a truss rod adjustment! I was actually thinking of drilling a hole through to the truss rod from where the neck pickup route is, so to adjust it all I'd have to do is take the pickguard off instead, but not sure how well that would work

looks great man. the pickups kind of pop because they're slightly off white compared to the pick guard. Bonus points for The Slayers poster lol

It was pretty easy to drill out the holes, even by hand, once you get passed the first one. The only issue I had was the installation screw they sent with it had a allen head, and driving screws into wood with one of those sucks. I've thought about putting a notch into the top near the neck pocket like old Fenders had, but if I'm taking the pickguard off I might as well pull the neck.

That wallscroll is by far my favorite!

Kinda wish I could make the neck pickup just a hair darker, as it hasn't been in the guitar as long as the bridge, so it's more white. That switch tip has to go though, way too dark.

I've thought about using a scotchbright pad to "matte" the pickguard, but I don't know if that would look better or not, for now I just smudged the crap out of it to cut down on the gloss.

Vastly prefer this pickup config and control layout, so much better!
