Yes, running with bad technique or doing a lot of running when severely overweight may damage your knees, but there's also evidence that running may reduce inflammation and reduce the risk of osteoarthritis. It's probably safe to say that a moderate amount of running is good for your knees, but overdoing it (like running marathons and shit) is probably not good for them.
