    - Consistent running to get mile time under 15 mins; shouldn't be too difficult given where I picked up this weekend, I'm shooting to get around 5mph, so a 12 minute mile, and then next year get it down again to around 10 mins.
    - Run more 5Ks; Color Run is in June/or early July, so that should be doable, and then I'd like to do the Jingle All the Way 5K in Maynard, or if I have the vacation time from work, the Rocky Run down in Philly would be cool too.
    - Back to weight training; I've got some adjustable dumbbells coming in (Powerblock 5-50 set) so that'll give me the ability to do upper-body workouts again. I've never been a big calisthenics guy, so if I'm working out, I prefer a machine or free weight.

Going the K.I.S.S. route with my goals

This. Back in my twenties, I had a personal trainer tell me that he told clients to focus on the mirror and not the scale. That one really stuck with me; isn't looking better the main reason we work out?

I walk at New Yorker pace about two miles each day (fast enough to elevate heartrate and breathing); one in the morning, and one in the evening. While my insane work schedule has made making time (and mental energy) for exercise difficult, I'd like to change that up this year, particularly focusing on flexibility as I definitely get stiffer muscles and joints more quickly nowadays than I did a few years ago.

Suggestions for good exercise ideas that don't need a lot of space or time are appreciated! NYC isn't particularly bike-friendly in a lot of ways, but I'm hoping to find some routes in Riverside Park now that I live closer.

Combining commutes with exercise has worked quite well for me. To get some extra exercise I have sometimes taken detours when cycling.

Not exactly. one pound is one pound. Muscle is denser than fat. It takes up less space than fat.
