Sure, knock yourself out, I'm apparently now a djent kid who knows nothing of the production world because I try pickups a lot? Who knew. Worked as a professional AE but fuck my opinion/advice!

Have you read any of the piece's about the creation of My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless"? You would enjoy them. There's a guy with very specific and ornery ideas about things like reverb.

I wasn't doubting your credentials, and I think it's common knowledge around here that you know infinitely more about AE than me (hence why I didn't explicitly mention it), but people have strong opinions about reverb. Even top level audio engineers often disagree with others' approaches or philosophy or workflow. Disagreeing with someone's beliefs about reverb isn't the same thing as writing off their credentials.

Untrue but, thanks all the same!

Also, I didn't say that to denounce your own opinion of reverb, or recording in general btw. I don't exactly have the sort of glowing resume full of globe-trotting artists that warrants that sort of attitude... Just a moment of puffing the proverbial chest out. I just felt obligated to defend the little that I do know, or rather to defend my place in the not-modern-metal hierarchy that you so boldly brought into question, like the swine you are.

I'll read that article. I do love a good opinion piece on subjective artifacts...
