    Scoop your mids while tracking, set the gain wherever you feel like. If you can't make it sound good then quite clearly it's because you need to Git Gud. Screw that "turn up the mids and turn down the gain" shit, that's for posers.


    And I'm only mostly kidding. If a fool told me to turn down my gain I'd fight them. My gain is exactly where it sounds best to me.
