    Working on a 5 song EP as a producer/artist

So I'm working on an EP thats going to be dark-pop. I'm releasing it as an artist to promote my production and songwriting skills. For you guys that produce and release your own stuff independently how would you think its best to promote to industry people rather than to grow your fan base?

You can have Mark Lewis mix your music, but if it's bland as fuck, no one will care. Promote to fanbase first.

I figured that was gonna be the answer. Could be fun getting artwork done and some lyric-music videos.

    Promote? What's that?

I think its when you post your links on facebook and tag everyone on your friends list and then spam it in their DMs a week later.
