revalver works great and is pretty damn close. i use it as a standalone host for these allot of the time. the stock revalver ones are good, but using some of the good impulses out there inplace of the peavey ones makes it sound loads better

I must say the X50 is pretty damn close to ReValver, but it is still in beta and isn't the final version yet.

So is my M-audio mobile pre USB sufficient to get these freedies to work?
this may solve some of my late night issues without shelling out the cash for an Axe-FX

    This?

If it is that or similar it will work just fine. If you're using reaper (make SURE you use Asio driver or you WILL have latency issues) just add the FX vst's (Amp, then cab loader, then noise gate etc) and then click on the button that looks liek a speaker under the red AR (arm) button for that specific track. You can of course tweak cab impulses and amp settings after recording if you didn't already figure that out. Also Click the speaker button Once and it you will always be able to play and hear it, click it Twice (turns green and has an A) and you will only be able to hear your playing while that specific track is armed.

    *edit*
I'm going to make a reaper tutorial for this and put it in the OP. Got practice in about 15 mins so I probably won't post it until later tonight.

that's exactly what I have and a tutorial would be great!
I've got Reaper set up to use Asio so I'm good there.
Geez this may be a much cheaper alternative for me than an Axe-Fx seeing the only thing I would be using the Axe for is recording anyway
gotta try all of this stuff tonight after Karate
