    NFL Offseason Thread

Pretty funny take on some of these guys from Daily News article:
    https://nypost.com/2018/04/17/one-dr...ke-cow-on-ice/

Mayfield - best of the bunch
Darnold - "like a cow on ice"
Allen - "like driving a covered wagon on the Autobahn"

The bottom line? “Everybody pumping these guys up,” Shonka said, “hasn’t studied film or is looking at too many highlight films on YouTube.”
"Oh, those jazz guys are just making that stuff up!" - Homer J. Simpson

    Hijacking your post.

    Brandon Marshall yesterday:

Brandon Marshall to Dez Bryant on joining Giants: 'Sorry baby bro no room' | NJ.com

    Brandon Marshall today:

Giants release six-time Pro Bowl WR Brandon Marshall - NFL.com

    I guess there's room now.

All that matters is getting Barkley. Must. Draft. Barkley. That's too bad about Marshall, but we lost the whole receiver corp basically last year. If we sign Dez, which frankly i don't care about, I suppose we can find a use for a guy who is no longer fast and can barely jump. I'd rather spend the cash on the O line though. And Barkley.

Man, the timing on that one. Somebody really had it in for that kid

Oh well, really. His stock randomly surged this week because for the last 4 months, he's been the bottom of the list (FCS team and he has accuracy issues). He started getting thrown around as a potential #1 earlier this week, probably as a smokescreen anyway. Good riddance.

Hoping they'll go RB, eh? Lot of speculation they'd go QB but I agree Eli's got a couple more years left if the OL starts giving him some help. My guess is they'll still take a QB but maybe in the second, someone in the second tier like Jackon, Rudolph or Falk.

Even though Eli was responsible for destroying the 19-0 dream, I wouldn't mind seeing him win one more.

This has to be the year for Brees or Rodgers though.

They got a guy last year in the 3rd round they had marked as a sure fire 1st rounder. They owe it to themselves to find out if he's all that. It was reported they started a 3 day minicamp Tuesday that ends today at 2:00 just to watch Davis Webb play QB. So, he was high on their list, they were thrilled to get him, he is all upside if you believe the current GM and HC, and he has been on the team studying with Eli for a year.

My gut says go with that guy and skip the guys the scouts say are 'like cows on ice' or 'covered wagons on the autobahn' Take the (barring injury) sure bet HoF'er and get back to Giants/NFC East football.
