  1. Guitar: Tech, Electronics and DIY
Can I use a regular on/on miniswitch for turning 18v mod on and off? I wanna have this for my HSS guitar for some versitility. And how would I wire the battery to it?:ugh:
  2. Guitar: Pickups Discussion
Any experience with this? Yes, I know that the 81x at 9V is said to be similar to running an 81 at 18V. I have an 81x on the way, and said "what the hell, it's worth a shot." I have two EMG-loaded guitars currently that are both 18V. I did some searching and hadn't found reference to anyone...
  3. Guitar: Pickups Discussion
Just a question here, getting a guitar with EMG sized routes in it, and kind of want a set just for having something different, so, my question: EMG-X series, how much better do they sound? What's the difference between them and doing an 18v mod? Which would you expect to be better? Do the...

So I power my pedals with a 1 spot power supply. Except one pedal (MXR EQ), which uses 18V. I do have the 18V adapter that came with the pedal but I'm lazy and the cord on the MXR adapter is pretty short so I sometimes power the MXR with the 1 spot. And don't notice or hear any difference at all...
  7. Guitars For Sale / Trade / Wanted
I am selling my Ibanez LACS RG7-CSD because I have fallen in love with 8 strings, and doubt I'll touch a 7 string again. These things are as rare as rocking horse shit, and I've even improved upon it with this one. Stock EMG 707's were replaced with EMG 707TW's, 18v modded with a new twin...
  8. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
Hi, Some may have seen my posts looking for an alternative guitar to my Standard HSS Strat. I played an ESP M-II with active EMG 81's bridge and neck. I liked the feel of this guitar but also liked the EMG's to a point. I've been researching different pickup combinations that other M-II...
