So, with tools arranged, I started my install of my new Seymour Duncan Gus G. Fire System into the Jackson King V (hardtail).
I'd mapped everything out except the 3-way slider switch. Pickups went in fine except the tabs were a little wide for the routing in the face of my guitar. Nothing a...

Im gonna buy a guitar in the next few days and I've narrowed down my choices to:
1. Schecter Blackjack Super Slim Series C-1 FR
2. PRS Se Torero
Basically I want a guitar for soloing. (metal/rock)
The Prs has Emg, while the Schecter has Blackouts.
Help me :scream:
Awesome video, I'm so glad he used the same guitar and same amp settings to truly compare the two. Apples to apples in this guitar I think the EMTY slays the 707. In a brighter guitar like a Loomis I bet the darker 707's would work better, but it's nice to see another choice.
1) Like new Blackout Phase II (EMG 707 sized) set (bridge+neck pup). Comes with all the wiring/pots and the two pickups.
2) Blackout Modular Preamp - comes with all the wiring/pots and battery clip and stereo jack.

I know I'm a noob here, but if you buy a set of SD Blackouts like these:
Do they come with all the extra parts you need? Pots and wires? like the 81-7 does? EMG EMG-81-7 7-String Guitar Active Pickup | Musician's Friend
Again sorry for the noob question
A friend lent me his Mick Thompson Blackouts. I thought I'd do a little comparison with the EMGs in my EC-1000. Thought some of you guys might be curious, so here ya go!

According to the Seymour Duncan website, the Blackout AHB-1-7 phase II is supposed to be a "direct retrofit" of the EMG 707. Except that the dimensions listed are not the same and I was wondering if anyone out there with both in their guitars could measure them and tell me if there is indeed a...
Really like these, but am replacing with Dimarzios so they have to go! hey're currently in a j-custom that i bought as it came with them, and tey sound really good, very impressed with them, can definately see why people prefer them to dimarzios. Plus (as you already know) don't require you to...
