...They're not DI and they're not boxes...
But nah, seriously, I've only recently discovered that they improve the quality of guitar signal for serious recordings and I think I should get one. I've also heard stuff about needing different ones for passive and active pickups... Sucks cause I use...
So I was recently shamed by my buddy for still using a cheap LiveWire DI box, and had my eyes opened by how great his Rupert Neve DI box sounded. That one is a little expensive, so I'm wondering if anyone has had good luck with something better than the LW but not $250. I'm looking at the Radial...
Both of my guitar amps are 150 watt and I love running them flat out, obviously this is rarely practical... or appreciated. This is more for me playing at home direct into my DAW so built in cab simulations aren't really needed as I've got some pretty decent IRs and am going to grab some...
I found this on Facebook and it piqued my interest. That junction box in the bottom right looks like a sleek and simple solution to run 4CM from the pedalboard with an all-in-one cable. My current setup works fine, however, this interests me because it's just so easy. Setup all the cabling in...
Since I have an itty bitty little 112, an Ikea cabinet, some blankets, an sm58, and arguably too much free time, I did this stupid shit. I present to you the Mäkämpquietür:
I know that stuffing the thing with that many blankets/pillows and using an empty tissue box as a mic stand probably...
I have some embarrassing newbie questions I need to ask.
PREAMP to Virtual Cabinet
I found a good deal on an ENGL E530. Looking forwards to receiving it.
My question is, what's the best way of hooking it into my audio interface?
How I want to use it:
Guitar --> e530 --> Audio...
Wampler Dual Fusion = $225
TC Hall of Fame Reverb = $125
TC Flashback Delay = $150
TC Shaker Vibrato = $75
Prices a reasonably negotiable but do not include shipping. These are damn near new pedals. I still have the boxes too. They do have velcro on the bottom, but it should be easy to get off...
I'm looking for an isolation cab box to house my 412. Seen the DIY videos etc on YouTube already I just wondered if any company actually built them? Not interested in isolation cabs with the speaker already fitted in. Fired the Zilla guys a message to see if they'd build one. Any suggestions?
There has been a 50 tube watt amp head that I've been looking at for awhile. Love it's sound, but I haven't owned an actual amp + cab setup in years now. I've just gone direct with my Axefx.
I'm definitely wanting to buy this amp, however, I won't have enough for a cab for quite some time after...
How's that for a catch all title?
I found this post over on the FAS forum:
Reamping I got hiss - Page 2
And am still not 100% clear. When I reamp, all I do is use one of the rear TRS outs on my MOTU 828 and send that into the rear of my Axe-Fx II. My DI signal is obviously a lot lower output...
FrankNitsch.com - Speaker Simulator Comparison Test - Recorded Sound Samples
Not my first choice for preamps, but gives a decent idea of what they sound like.
FYI, I agree with this guy on the Palmer. In normal, it sounds good, but in mellow or bright, it's more or less useless.
Looking for something to finally move my data off my computer. I think I'd prefer to get a NAS box that also acts as a media server and will transcode stuff for my PS3 and my brother's Xbox.
I know the pre-built hardware NAS boxes offer media server capabilities, but I don't think they'll do...
I need to send two MIDI signals into one device. (My Axe-II and my vDrums -> MOTU 828)
Short and sweet, anyone use one of these?

Is there a better solution out there?
What are your favorite dirt boxes, you know, those little pedals of joy chucked in front of amps to make a whore blush :D
basically, favorite overdrive/distortion/fuzbox and why you love and what you use it in front of.
