I get the feeling that I'm going to be in a minority here, but having played through a wide variety of amps, I've found I really love the focused sound of a smaller combo. I know that the full or half stack is pretty standard for metal but I've just never got on with the way they sound.
Can anyone be patient and enlighten me on all those 90's Peavey Combos?
I keep seeing on my local "Craig List" Bandits with various color stripes (Red, Green, Grey) which I cant find info on whats different about them, also Envoys and Backstage models.
I miss having an Amp even...
I'm, currently in the probably most debatable part of my rebuild: A good Pickup combo.
Currently, I have a few combos in mind, and since i dont have a lot of experience with these pups, but I've heard plenty of soundclips; I want you guys to shout out if you hear one you like, or please, for...
So in another thread I've been looking at buying a used 5150/6505.
Many people are asking for 700+ in my area.
Looking around I see some Mesa Dual Rectifiers in the 800 dollar range. From my understanding it is a more versatile amp.
Would that perhaps be a better purchase to kill two birds...
Anybody have any experience with these? Ill be getting a new amp when my tax return comes. I play thrash to metalcore. and some jack white style stuff from time to time.
The price for one of thePeavey Ultras just seems to good to pass up. they are $300 everywhere. was wondering if they are...
Room mates are being bitches about high gain full stack shred. What's good?
VHT Pitbull 112 combos? (dunno what the designation is, CL45? Not talking about the shitty current 6 watt pieces of shit that are non Fryette. mind you.)
ENGL Jive? (There was one on ebay recently, but it was fucked)...
I posted this on the FAS boards but figured I'd throw it up here as well.
I have a patch that I'm dialing in for a certain guitar/track that I'm getting close on. I like the tone itself, but I'm having a serious problem with the bottom end being too boomy when I use the U87 Condenser mic model...

Peavey 6505 Plus Combo Guitar Amp Combo | DV247
Has anybody played/seen/heard one yet (I know they're not out yet here)?
£450 (£400 from GAK actually) seems a little too good considering how much the 212 used to sell for! :D
I know it's been talked about a lot, but I didn't see a definitive thread focused on gigging combo amps.
I play in a rock'ish style band and I've been gigging around with a really terrible amp (crate212), sitting on a 4x12 that's powered by amp's external speaker. Now that I have some cash...
Ok so i work at a cabinet shop and i have access to lots of alder and walnut so i was wondering if these would sound good together?
Also what other combos work good and arent too muddy or extremely bright?
