24" Rude Eclipse Mega Power Ride
I'm sure a lot of you know this guy by now, he seems to be gaining popularity fast, and rightly so, he's great. Basically just cranks plexis all day long.
Anyway, this is depressing but hey we all knew it...
So, I've had a set of Suhr V60s in my rosewood/ash strat for maybe six months now, and have had a set of the V60LP "low peak" version sitting on my desk for a couple weeks, and I finally got a chance to do the swap over the weekend and edit up the video last night. With minimal comment:
From yesterday's wiring fun:
The ML's have been my favorite singlecoils for a while now, so I grabbed a set of the V60s figuring I wanted something different for my sunburst Strat, and if the MLs were THAT good, the V60s couldn't be too bad either. I figured I'd do an A/B comparison in my...
This song is about going through a period of writer's block. It was the first song I wrote after 4-5 months of being stuck, and it was the first time I wrote lyrics for us. I got into the mindset of comparing what I've written in the past to what I was trying to write and thinking none of it is...
Hey guys, been a while since I posted anything, figured I'd treat you guys to a little tutorial and some clips.
Lets get started with some basics, you need a table.
You don't want yelled at, so protect the table, even if its garbage.
Now lets get to the good stuff. You're going to want to...
I put all the 5150 III amps in the axe fx III against each other. Everything on in the patch is the same and the only thing that changes in the amp. Can you guys please tell me how I can make my videos better? I tried to make this one the best I could, but it seems that my tones that I got...
The stock cab is a "Rectifier". It quite close to the IR I used
The IR is called "Marshall1960A-G12Ms-SM57-Cone-0in"
0:00 stock cab
0:30 stock cab
0:38 stock cab
0:42 stock cab
Ok, first, behold! Behold how the mighty RFR finish sees my camera sensor, flexes at it, and renders as more of a muted orange on film, because it's SO damned eye-(and-sensor)-searing! The still is actually my iPhone, which handles it better.
Honestly, I don't know if Ibanez changed the V7/V8...
I've had 2x Radial J48 for a couple of years, mainly for capturing guitars on live shows, but the Palmer active is without a doubt a massive bang for the buck.
I would say tho, that the Radial seems to have a more "pristine" sound quality, more highs, while the Palmer seems a little darker. But...
Warmoth made another good comparison video now!
So yeah I'm not very surprised because I've had similar results when changing bridges (difference constructions/saddle materials etc)
And just like Aron says in the video, to really hear differences you gotta listen back to back on recordings...
I've had Röde NT5 for about 5 years now, but because I had to keep them in my rehearsal while tracking another band in their rehearsal, we agreed on getting me a new pair of mics (aside from the rest of recording they paid, so super nice of them!)
It's not until now I've had time to actually...
I have been looking for mid-rangey Kemper profiles for a while but it wasn't until I found some BUGERA (yes... a Kemper costs about 3x as much as a Bugera ) profiles made by SinMix I think I got in the right ballpark where I want to be.
First out is the MRP 6262 from his free pack anyone...
Finally installed a set of BKP Calibrated Warpigs with a Ceramic in the bridge.
They're savage as hell. Love them. The lead tones are insane on the bridge. Neck is similar to a liquifire but a little more dynamic.
The Warpig is tighter than the Blaze in the low end with more...
So, it's "common knowledge" that the built-in direct signals (hi-z/instrument/guitar) on interfaces are inferior to let's say a good quality DI box (like teh Radial)
So I decided to make a comparison.
REAMPED SOUND (with Kemper)...
Let's do it! :flex:
Part 1/4 = EMG 81 with drums
Part 2/4 = EMG 60 with drums
Part 3/4 = EMG 81 alone
Part 4/4 = EMG 60 alone
The EMG 60 is TIGHTER, and also, there's not really anything "thin" about it either.
However, I do not like the 60 for soloing, the 81 has far better harmonics and...
SevenString.org - View Single Post - SM57 sounds good only at the super edge?
Link to the post with audio clips - tl;dr on the rest of the thread, guy was unhappy with his recorded tone using a SM57, posted looking for some tips over at Sevenstring, and (god only knows why this occurred to him...
I want to do something a little more in-depth and methodical than this at some point, but I'm kinda sick of making guitar videos for the moment, having just done 10 in 4 days. But this is still fairly useful, I think.
This is one take, routed through all three options at the same time, so...
