  1. Guitar: Gear Discussion
It's been a while since I tried something completely new in my gear setup, so I took a cue from the various pedal nuts on here and figured I'd get something that I wouldn't normally go for. I'm not sure quite how this will work with my current setup since it's such a drastic departure from AW...

No, I haven't become one of those insufferably repetitive stoner/doom fanbois. I'm not using it for its distortion. Quick background - I became very bored of the tubescreamer sound a couple of years back and delved into some alternatives. You can boutique yourself all the way to the very top of...

Snagged a Sansamp PSA-1 preamp. I was skeptical, but racked it up today. Cranked it up through a 4x12. Sounds awesome. I haven't gone through all the presets yet. I picked one and tweaked it a bit, and let it rip. The preset I'm using reminds me of my Valvesonic Plexi. Stoked.

Pod Go arrived yesterday. Easy to program and sounds killer. Bought a used one and they sent a new one. Stoked.

Trigger Chris content  Sold off a bunch stuff I wasn't using (Bias Head, Headrush 112, JCM800, some others). Got on the FM3 waiting list, in the meantime I picked up a Nux MG-300. Actually really cool multieffect especially for the price, tons of functionality for the price ($150!)...

The last of the 24 fret super strats I was originally building for Landon Guitars before USACG/Landon went away. Finally took the time to finish this one. Like the others, the heaviest swamp ash I could find for the bodies. I originally wanted maple bodies but since not many people dig the...

Squandered $28 for a custom embroidered nylon strap from Etsy, because why the fuck not. Got it from here.

Because what's better than one Strymon boost? Two! Two Strymon boosts! I've wanted another one of these for a while now, after selling my last one to Andy. This thing is great. :yesway: The only bummer is that it isn't external switchable, so I can't stuff it into a FM3 scene. Otherwise -...

So shortly after putting up bass traps and wall treatment I had this sort of realization like, "Well, this is good from a sonic perspective, but without any reflections in here, I've kind of lost that cavernous dungeon ambiance". So I was thinking of ways to have my cake and eat it too. Have...

Well Ive had the 120watt 6505+ head, Ive had the 20 watt MH with a 2x12. Just got the 6505+ 112 pretty happy so far. I have only ran it straight in to test it out with the built in reverb. But it definitely has the sound and its loud as fuck. Going to unwind from work and hook up my tube...

While I haven't run into any issues with my 2012 Macbook Pro since I upgraded it to 16GB of RAM, the hard drive sounds like a robot having a stroke when I start it up and the fan no longer comes on on it's own. I spent $600 on it about 4 years ago and it's definitely given me my money's worth. I...

Because bending down to adjust a combo amp sucks, I grabbed this V30'd Orange 1x12. Partially to run my modelers with, bust mostly to use as an amp stand. It sounds good all the same, because it's a well-built cab with a speaker that everyone uses for a reason. Having said all that, since these...

Just received this mint condition Hafler T2 tube preamp. Sounds a little generic, but I'm going to keep it. recorded direct with NADiR and TPA-1.

New Cheap Cab Day! Just snagged this Carvin 4x12 for $50. Pic is from the CL ad. 400 watts, 8 ohms, 4 ohms in stereo. Looks brand new. Briefly tried it with my JSX and it sounds killer. Found another one locally that I may snag as well.

Used Aerodyne J bass. Modded with an aguilar 4P-60 P pickup (assuming - it's closely matched to the J) and a Babicz bridge. Traded a strat towards it, since they aren't getting scooped up as I'd hoped. I have a black babicz bridge, so I'll be swapping them out and sending the chrome on to my...

After drooling over a bunch of videos and 15% off at Guitar Center I could no longer ignore the siren song of. The Plumes overdrive. Holy fucking shit does this thing RIP. It's like a ts on steroids. It tightens but doesn't lose the bass in mode 3. Mode 2 is a wicked clean boost that works...

So I've had a Hakko 936 for fucking ever, and it's a sick iron. But somehow I split up the element and the iron and the stand and I think the element is in a storage unit in another state. So while I didn't really need a new soldering iron, because the 936 is a beast, I wanted something a little...

Got one of these. It sounds awesome. :yesway: ...And is a zillion times louder than I'll ever need it to be. I'm not really used to having a power amp with a presence knob, though.

Hi!!! I got these parts for $150  NECK The neck is like 99.9% straight, with a SLIGHT bow on the treble side, instead of bass side. Normally I would be upset about it, but it's so little I think a very minor fret leveling will sort it out. The frets are of a smaller size anyway, so I...
