I need a bunch of floppy drives for a silly project. The older the better as long as they function. Not looking to throw much money into this but thought maybe someone on here might have some in a corner collecting dust.

Also, I had no idea what forum this fit in to, so if it must be moved, so be it.
What should I do with it? I thought about repairing it (back then you could repair consumer electronics! holy shit!), from what I've read it seems that basically the I/O controller is dead, and if I can find the chip I can easily replace it.
Or....I could turn it into an external hard drive...
