Great shape. Normal playing wear. Surface scratches, etc. Mahogany body/neck. 24.75" scale. Rosewood fretboard. Replaced the DiMarzio Injector bridge pickup with a DiMarzio mini-ToneZone. Also added a set of Schaller Locking tuners.
I dig it but it has a very "vintage" vibe to it, if you know...
A thing I really appreciate on Paul is that, he seems to always be that humble kid in the Candy Store. He talks with this sort of naive passion that really gets contagious. Makes me want to go buy this and test ahahaha :D
Price: $650 OBO
Price is OBO. I got this guitar when I went to Paul GIlbert's Great Guitar Escape in New York. I got the back of the headstock signed by him there. Guitar is 4.9/5 condition. It has been well taken care of and never gigged with. Trade Value will be a little higher.
I got this awesome guitar when I went to Paul Gilbert's guitar escape camp in Big Indian, New York. Paul gave away one of his guitars and he actually pulled my name. I was super shocked I won the guitar. It plays really well; it has a neck similar to a Les Paul. It is beefy but still very...
I got that, acceptably clean, up to 100bpm tonight. I think he's actually playing it more around 130-140. It's the fucking string-skipped arpeggio, jumping into that from a bit further down on the neck, that gets me every time.
(well, that and his machine gun of a right hand :/)
Here's a cover of "Put It On The Char" from PG's last album 'Vibrato', recorded in the studios at my university with my mates Adam and Lewis. We played this for my performance exam back in May, and now that we've got new studios and practice rooms at uni, we decided to go in and record this.
5 note stacked sweeps
I jammed with Dean Wells just once, and he was doing these things that I couldn't really figure out until I asked him to slow it down a touch. It was pretty much stacked sweeps. I don't know really what else to call them.
I've been working on this solo for a while - I'd gotten pretty lazy with my playing, I wasn't practicing or learning anything new at all, and I was getting pretty rusty, so I decided to have a go at learning some solos that I liked, and that were a challenge to me. This is the first one that...
"So I am asking all the children to quit wasting time with music that's been so auto-tuned." - Paul Gilbert
Gotta love Paul Gilbert's style and humour!
What do you guys think of Paul Gilbert's new album?
