Another new local band I thought some of you might dig. They call themselves "doom pop", but basically it's sludgy, riffy, downtuned rock, but melodic and catchy. Kind of a bit of QOTSA, Soundgarden, etc. Badassness, basically.
I was walking through the streets to my local supermarket a few months ago and heard some killer drums. Knocked on the door to inquire, turned out to be a 19 year old who rocks the skins like a motherfucker!
Anyway, we tried to have jams and it never happened because we were both so busy, then...

The reason I love bands like obscura and the faceless is because even though they shred balls they still have extremely groovy riffs and tasteful breakdowns. You guys into any other bands similar to that?
