So I was recently shamed by my buddy for still using a cheap LiveWire DI box, and had my eyes opened by how great his Rupert Neve DI box sounded. That one is a little expensive, so I'm wondering if anyone has had good luck with something better than the LW but not $250. I'm looking at the Radial...

So this thing is like everything you guys hate. It's headless, has a burl top, it's a Legator. Probably even more stuff. Yet despite the bad reputation this guitar is fucking stellar. Buckeye top, mahogany body, wenge/maple neck, SS frets, ebony board, etc. It came setup perfectly and it plays...

So I have been drooling over these for years and a deal popped up that made me go for it. It's a Relish Mary A. These are made in Switzerland and are a wood composite sandwich body on an aluminum frame. It basically has the resonance of a hollow body without the drawbacks and it feels like a...

No matter what I do, or what effects I use, my solos always end up sounding really thin and anemic. For the rhythm guitar, I usually record 4 separate tracks, and pan two hard left and two hard right. But what about the solos? Thank you for the input!

Names Jake. I'm into more classic metal/hard rock (Sabbath, Priest, Lizzy, UFO) up through the 80s and early 90s (Crimson Glory, Scorpions, etc.). I like some modern metal and I respect the talent within the genre throughout the ages. Im also a big early prog rock fan (Utopia, Camel, King...

The lefty forum that I help run is having some issues. The hosting company just upgraded all the shared servers to a new version of Apache, which is now causing a compatibility issue with our version of PHP. We have 5.3, which I know is old, and they now require 5.6. I have never had to do an...

Gets lumped in with the modern shredder prog guys, most of which I can't really get into, like Plini, Polyphia, etc but this album's got a lot more of the more standard fusion elements to it than most. Some bits of Tribal Tech, Holdsworth, Return to Forever, Jens Johannson and Herbie Hancock in...

Hi guys, My name is Alex and I am a music lover. I started writing and singing my songs when I was a freshman at the university. At that time, I always need a guitar player for music accompaniment to support me. Hence, I've decided to learn how to play guitar. I'm so excited to find out and...
