I dont get the hype. What exactly does a Hipshot hardtail do better than for example a Gotoh?
It's a hardtail, it's not rocket science.
Personally I dont think I could care less for the function of either of them.
I just prefer the looks of the Gotoh. It looks solid and to the point without...
So, I finally replaced the original rotting zinc Gotoh 7 string TOM on my Soloist 7. The low B saddle was basically rounded off up to the notch.
I was going to do the ABM bridge, but then Hipshot introduced the Tone-amatic 7...
Just kiddin. You know my preferences. :flex:
Northwest Guitars body
An old Fender neck (refretted with stainless steel frets)
Irongear Steam Hammer pickups (yeah, I'll stay with those, I like them so much)
Planet Waves autotrim tuners
Thats all there is to it.
The neck has...
Looking for a Hipshot bridge, 7 string, black, 0.125 base thickness and, this is the important part, non-staggered string holes. I'm going to resurrect a previous build and don't want to retrofit for a newer style bridge.
I dig the Wilkinson on my Strat currently, but kind of feel like trying something new, and I've heard good things about these. They look awesome, are supposed to sound great, and evidently have the same sort of tension-adjustable arm holder I like about the Wilkinson, but push-in like the newer...
just to ask if anybody did experienced with this two bridges ? and what are the differences between these two? brighter , more sustain, more mids ? as am looking to do a non tremolo bridge and these two is the only way to go....
better tone ? classic tone ?
Picked this up a few weeks ago from jacksonplayer. I'd been lusting after it since he brought it over a few months ago, and he was thinning the heard after buying an SG and a Les Paul back to back.
This one has the same 60s neck as my Studio, which is in between the 60s slim taper and...
This was my #1 in Sparrows from October 2014 to June 2015. It is a 2008 Gibson Les Paul Studio, purchased used at Long and McQuade (Canadian national chain, for our American buddies). It is fairly lightweight (around 8lbs, using my 7.34lb guitar as reference). Condition is 8/10 - it has a bit of...
I have an old 2000 MiJ RG7421 that's been sitting around the house for a while now, I figured it's time I put a little effort into it and make it a real player. All the parts I ordered have finally arrived.

Got these bad boys for my Strat, the vintage tuners aren't ideal... And I liked the Hipshot hardware so much on my 7621 so I grabbed some for this. They don't look as good from the front as the vintage's, but the back is clean as fuck.
I thought these were a retrofit, as the ad said 'fits most...
i received one today i got from an ebay seller.
weird thing is, the holes in the bridge don't line up with the schematic i dL from hipshot website.
anyone have this bridge?
Here's a pic of the underside of the bridge vs hipshot a schematic.
Notice the bridge string thru holes are staggered...
Excuse the crappy phone pics lads and lassies, but here's my current harem! Save for an H-207 with Blackouts, Garrison acoustic, and Ibanez Frankenstrat that needs a little TLC. I'm hoping to add a Bowes 6 sometime soon :agreed:
The Walnut topped 8 is an Egan custom, who's currently waiting on...
I don't have personal experience with this product but came across this looking at parts for my next Warmoth build. Thought it looked like a cool idea for many of us that want to change tuners.

Selling the black Hipshot that came off of my Stef B8. It's the .175" foot height. In good shape. Scratches under the saddles from the height screws. Other than that it's pretty much perfect. $65 paypal shipped.
This is an awesome-looking and awesome-feeling neck, but it doesn't fit the guitar it's supposed to fit, so I'd rather sell it on and buy the right neck.
It's a Warmoth 24.75" scale Strat conversion neck; will turn any Strat or Tele into a 24.75" scale instrument with no other modifications...
