Decided to go with the Seymour Duncan Hot rod set with the JB and Jazz to replace the stock Jacksons
all I can say is WOW :hbang:
I know many dont like the JBs but they gave me that mid range growl I was looking for. I run standard tuning and they were just what the doctor ordered.
Holy fucking hell.
I mean, I knew the neck and middle were good, but...
1) Now they're through proper 250k volume and tone pots, darkening and smoothing them a hair, and
2) now they have an awesome, awesome, awesome bridge singlecoil to compliment them.
Thick, powerful, and clear...
Been meaning to grab either a watch or cycling computer with heartrate and GPS, and this one also adds in cadence, and appears to support navigation if I give it a course in advance. Pretty cool. :yesway: Thoughts after I take it out tomorrow, I just installed the thing.
Ill start by saying that they are quite different. They are very articulate, and have a good amount of gain.
They don't have the sustain of an EMG, but they do sound good. They have a lot more midrange than other active pickups, and they clean up amazingly.
