This albums sound like it's going to be ridiculous.
I have very high hopes for this album and since Portnoy gets to write it will be quite a show.
I didn't really get too pumped for his playing on Petrucci's solo album, it sounded restricted since he didn't necessarily write.
Petrucci at SEGA Music Awards (Solo tunes w/Full Band & Allman Bros. Cover with Rena)
This is a very cool video with Petrucci going to the SEGA Music Awards.
He plays "Glasgow Kiss" & "Lost Without You" with a full house band and at the end him and his wife cover "Jessica."

So for the longest time my Dad has wanted a Marshall JCM800 that sounded like Van Halen, Alice in Chains, Lynch, Whitesnake or whatever tone he was seeking out with those guys using Marshalls.
I told him for years the way those guys got those tones was through Modded Marshalls and not a stock...
At least for me and I have not been pleased with their last few albums but this one takes the cake.
It literally sounds like the new form of Dream Theater mixed a touch of Awake and Petrucci's lead tone in Liquid Tension Experiment.
They try some new things vocally that I think James hits the...
I love this new Dream Theater song and they have not released a new song in a while where I felt in love.
However, this is very SDOT, Ocatavarium. Everything sounds great and Petrucci's solo is glorious. So good.
His best solo out of all the ones recently.

Last night was the last show of the entire "The Astonishing Live" Tour.
We were settled into a lovely-cozy-modern theater in Durham, NC.

Finally some serious possible competition against the Mini Rectifier. I want a Road King so I might switch to the Mini Mark rather than the Mini Rec depending on how much I like it (but it'll take a lot for me to switch ). Also mid-boost on ch. 1 and the built-in cab clone are interesting...
So I've seen similar threads to this before, I'm sure you guys probably have too, so I apologize if this sounds familiar. Anyway, in your experience, how does the DM Crunch Lab/ Liquifire combo sound in a Les Paul-style guitar?
I've heard from a couple of sources that they sound too compressed...

Go to DiMarzio's website and look for the Crunch Lab and Liquifire pickups. Yes they do have six and seven string versions. They are basically tweaked versions of the D-Sonic and Air Norton.
