  2. Guitars For Sale / Trade / Wanted
2 sevens, Ibanez S5427 & Carvin DC727 I picked up a used DC800 so one of my sevens has to go. The problem is, I cannot decide which to let go as I love them all. So, I figured I would list them and let the market decide. They are: Ibanez Prestige S5427 w/ SD JB-7, a walnut Carvin DC727 w/...

Here is my video I made comparing the Indonieasn made JP70 vs the American made JP7. Both guitars play great but I will let you be the judge. Both guitars had BKP blackhawks in them when they were recorded.
  4. Guitar: Pickups Discussion
Hi guys, does somebody know the wiring diagram color code on the JP70 pickups? I have those 2 JP70R and JP70F, which I think the F is for the neck one and the R is for the bridge one, anyway, I want to wire my JS22 with those pickups but not sure about the wiring color code. Thanks! Arturo
  5. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
Hi, on my black JP70 I noticed when I push down the trem bar for a dive bomb, when releasing the bar I hear a 'clack' kind of sound coming from the trem, I think the sound comes from the knife edge on the bass side of the strings. This only happens upon releasing the bar after it's been pushed...
  6. Guitar: Tech, Electronics and DIY
Hi, I want to install a coil tap (push pull pot) in my other JP70 but want to try this with the stock PU's, to see how they sound when split. The problem is I need to find out what the color codes are. Is there a way to figure it out? The color on the PUs are: black, white, red, blue and then...
  7. Guitar: Tech, Electronics and DIY
Hello, I have been away from playing for about 5 years but I am back now. I have picked up a JP70 at a good price and I notice that the frets are just a bit peaking out on the sides... can feel them playing some leads. Obviously where I am in the midwest its dry and I dont have a humidfirer...
  8. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
I am very, very late with this, as I got this guitar in July. Finally posting a NGD thread for it. It's my 3rd JP70, needless to say I really like this guitar a lot. I am planning on having the HBs split, and maybe also putting DiMarzios in it, but the stock PUs actually sound quite ok to me...
  9. Guitar: Pickups Discussion
At this point I will likely be keeping the guitar - I think the cheaper option to look into is to look into upgrading pickups though the stock pickups are not bad by any means. I was thinking of either an Illuminator set or Dactivator set, but I was curious what you guys would suggest. I have...
  10. Guitars For Sale / Trade / Wanted
So obviously I joined the new band, and ideally I'd need a slightly different type of guitar than what I currently have - hence I am putting my JP70 up for trade to see what's out there. She's in great shape, there is some very slight "shining" from using the guitar (typical for matte finish...

  12. Guitars For Sale / Trade / Wanted
I grabbed this not long ago, and never reach for it over my Suhr. This is a damn nice guitar and a hell of a lot of fiddle for not much money. I'm trying to slim the collection down a bit, so this is first up. Pic from the day I got it: Pic w/Blazes: NGD when I picked it up...

  14. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
Hi, just 2 weeks ago I got my green JP 70 : http://www.metalguitarist.org/forum/guitar-instrument-discussion/53762-ngd-sterling-jp70.html It's a great guitar and since I like both available colors, I decided to get the purple one as well. Got it yesterday. It has some string buzz especially on...
  15. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
Hi, pics first: I got this one last week. Ever since I heard of these coming out I wanted to have one (or two..LOL). This is an awesome guitar, it plays GREAT. The setup was perfect for me right out of the box, I did not even have to change the action. It was not crazy low, it was more...
  16. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
Wirelessly posted With the petrucci trem even though its not double locking it does look like a fully floating trem, as such is it a total PITA to switch tunings on the fly (ie drop a)?

SBMM JP70 seven string pickups: Black, perfect shape, lots of lead. Will take a pic tomorrow, and grab some impedance readings. $25 shipped for the pair. Definitely an upgrade from New7s, good for a project guitar. Blaze 7 single coil, came with the set I got from Donnie and I don't need it...
  18. Guitar: Pickups Discussion
This is actually a pickup swap in progress, while I look up some wiring info. I had hoped that the SBMM pickup colors were the same as DiMarzios, but alas, not the case. Anyway, I'm waiting for the fretboard to soak up some Guitar Honey, so I figure I'd get started on posting this up. Here we...
  19. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
I picked one of these up today off of Eric Clemenzi, MG's official SBMM dealer. Eric is the man, so naturally buying one from him vs anywhere else was a no-brainer, and I had the added bonus of getting to pick it up in person. This is the SBMM JP70 in trans green. It's 25.5", basswood, with a...
  20. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
Which would you personally go for? My thoughts: either way, same woods, love both neck profiles, shit pickups, great looks. I'm just unsure about the sterling is all. What would make it worth $275~ more? And will a 25.5" hold up in GDGCFAD?
