Was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on a tool kit that would provide everything I need to work on my ESP JH-600? It has a Kahler Hybrid bridge and I'd really like to learn how to change my strings, set it up, etc. without relying on someone else to do it.
So yah, if y'all...
I've had these 2 higher end Kahlers that I got from work and I'm going to swap one for the "Flyer" Kahler on that Warlock I picked up a while back. Nothing wrong with the old Kahler. It is actually really stable and holds tuning but it's a bit worn looking. Plus, the new ones have the lock screw...
I just discovered the coolest thing ever. I did this on a HM Strat I'm modding at the moment.
You can just take out the studs and bushings for the Kahler Spyder trem and screw in the Gotoh Floyd studs right in the wood hole, and it's a spot on fit! No real need to actually drill new holes for a...
So, the fine tuner tailpiece on my Gibson does not accept the threads on regular Schaller style floyd style tunes. The Kahler barrel type tuners are threaded differently, so I took them off my Mockingbird for now. Funnily enough, on TOM fine tuner tailpieces and Kahlers I prefer the barrel type...
THANK GOD FOR WAMMI WORLD FOR SUPPLYING ALL YOUR DIFFICULT TO SOURCE KAHLER PARTS.
It was fine in D, but Eb was too hardcore.
Way too hardcore.
I dig springs that come with a certificate of authenticity though.
Hey all, I've got another problem with my Kahler :ugh:
There seems to be a buzz coming from the bridge when I play the low E string. It hasn't happened with any other strings and the bridge vibrates quite a bit. Any clues on what's causing this or how to solve it?
I read somewhere here that locking the trem is necessary when you tune the guitar. I don't see a lock on this Kahler Spyder. I know some Kahler trems have locks (I did a little research before posting) but I can't find one on this and the owner's manual does not show one.
I can see myself...
I just picked up my guitar after a month of not using it (it's a B.C. Rich KKV with a Kahler hybrid tremolo). I tuned the strings and immediately came across a problem. Every time I tune a string, the bridge raises and all the strings go out of tune. The bridge doesn't stay in position at all...

I'm gonna order a brother to my Waghorn custom RR7 pretty soon, hopefully as early as next spring, and I was thinking about which bridge to go with. I know I want a fixed bridge and while a Hipshot would be an easy and a "safe" choice I'm weirdly aroused by the idea of a Kahler. The Jackson...

It's a 2700/2710 Killer.
It's pretty cool and just drops straight into a 2 point strat cavity.
It has adjustable radius & string spacing and also individual string height!
Unfortunately the mounting studs/knife edge kinda things didn't come at the same time but hopefully they shouldn't be too...

If anyone is interested,
I got a Kahler trem, with locking nut, but...
Looking for something for this guitar.
OFRs and Schaller FR would obviously work, but I hear some of the Kahler FR type trems are quite good, and it seems like their shape is close to the licensed FR route. Which ones are the good ones? Spyders? Or are those the shit ones?
anyone unfamiliar with my situation should perhaps view a summary on this thread, and please note that i am not wanting to start a flame-war on all-new thread.
