On the intro: Am chord, Steve plays a bassline using A, D and E. But once the F chord kicks in he uses a parallel shape and ends up playing a Bb. Being a song in the key of A Minor, that note really stinks up the song for me unfortunately...
I used to listen this album all the time in 88. I ended up taking lessons with their guitarist Paul Nelson in 1990 or 91 for about six months who at the time lived in Stamford, CT. From what I understand he took lessons from Vai, which I thought was pretty cool at the time.
