Metal was meant to be listened to LOUD, but I hear and read things all the time about people listening to tunes on their phones and such, which really can't come close to how loud metal was meant to be played. It got me wondering, especially since bass attenuates with reduced volume, are the...
Some time ago I bought an HD500 to use as a recording rig, but after playing around with it and going through all the different amps/cabs/pedals/mics, I knew it was way deeper than I ever gave a shit about and just slowed me down. I let the HD500 collect dust while I bought a small combo amp...
If I'm anywhere close to the adaptors to my mixer + Cymatic Live Player I get a LOT of humming noise.
Is there any way to get rid of it?
Everything is hooked to the same wall socket.
I dont know how to describe the issue any further and I'm really not an expert in this field

The 6505+ combo is my first tube amp and I love it. I have found that it is very loud. So much that I can't even get the master volume over 1 and barely at that. What is loudest anyone has had theirs cranked up to? If I didn't have neighbors I'd blast the hell out of it and hope I don't blow the...
I have to stop singing for a while because I might have misused my fucking voice and I can't sing high notes anymore, and voice sounds weird too :pissed:
Anyway here's what I managed to get together before the problems started;
The idea was to record two new albums for 2016, one completely...
My Simul 2:90 wasn't getting used so I threw it out to the spheres to see what gear of interest was out there to trade. Dude got in touch about this Megalith Beta. So I figured I check it out. Jumped online and looked at the videos and was intrigued immediately.
So he brought it over, and we...

Hey guys,
This morning we got to announce officially our signing to New Damage Records to release our next EP, due out summer 2015. We'll be announcing a tour schedule soon (lots of major cities, I really hope to meet a bunch of you) and more album details.
You can read up on it here:
New...
So you bunch of cocks with MKV25's have me GASsing like none other, and I've been curious about tube power amps lately. I had a thought: using the MKV25 with my axefx 4CM as my main rig. Would that be enough power to keep up with a LOUD drummer, and be comfortable in a live context? A Mark would...
Sparrows has a couple of US shows coming up, and I know a few of you are around these parts. With a full lineup and as-of-yet unreleased songs, it should be a good time.
Hope to meet some of you on the road on this trip!
Yes, I know this has been discussed before, but I'm still looking for an all tube head + cab or combo that will be my one and only amp.
Been lurking and reading a lot but I'm still undecided...
I need it to be loud enough for rehearsal with a loud, hard-hiting drummer and that will still...
Hey guys, last night I jammed with a band for the first time in a dozen years. Best time I've had in a long time. PA was cranking and the solo rectifier i was borrowing was maxed out. My ears are squashed right now and I'm going back for more on a weekly basis. Way long ago I had some ear plugs...
Fast N' Loud : Discovery Channel
This show is fucking awesome. :yesway: No stupid fake drama, super likable cast, plenty of joking and kidding around and all sorts of kickass cars. It could focus a bit more on the actual mechanical work, but other than that - check it out, it's great.
Hello, I used to have a 5150 Sig series but I sold it and when I found a Block letter for 400 at a pawn shop I jumped on it. It has all the original tubes from when it was made. My issue is, it just doesn't seem to get loud enough and I can't remember what I had to turn my sig series too. I...
So I read recently that all tracks should have their peak db no higher than like -3 or -6.
When I follow those guidelines, everything is really quiet. So I lower the volume on all my tracks so that the peak never exceeds -3db and everything is good, no clipping, etc. But it's so quiet...
I just started programming some drums tracks. I tap them out on the keyboard and then go in and edit the timing. But everything is super loud (velocity 127).
I'm thinking, it's probably better to have the drum volume lower but the track volume higher (which would produce the same playback...
People will be playing at a reasonable volume, and then some blues guy always comes and plays loud as fuck on his neck pickup with the tone turned way down.
Every single time I go, this happens. And it's always the blues guys. The metal guys always play relatively quietly.
So, I actually picked this up about a week ago, but after playing guitar for 13 years, I finally own my first tube amp :D
I traded my old POD X3 (the HD500 is so good I hadn't turned the X3 on since I got it) for a Peavey Windsor head:
I don't have a cab yet (plan on scoring a used Marshall...
