Everyone's favorite insufferably pretentious nebulous buzzword makes an appearance on Stew-Mac.
Anyone have a hypothesis on what the difference between a matched set and a curated set is?
Is an artisinal set an entirely different thing, or can I get a set that is artisinal and also curated?
I've searched, bought and tried so many Kemper profiles I have been thinking about selling it... But that's not going to happen now I'm pretty sure of!
I've come to realize that the types of tones I'm after are pretty "unique", and I will NEVER find a Kemper profile that sounds the way I want...
I've got the BIAS Amp plugin now, and want to play around more with the amp match feature. It can be either a mic'd clip, clip with an IR, or just the amp, and I can IR it here.
A lot of people here post some pretty awesome clips, so I'd love to see how close I can match it with BIAS.
I've been doing a bit of looking around about EQ matching, having listened to a home recording podcast that talked about it. Also, I'm fairly certain that FAS and Positive Grid use it, or a more advanced form of it, for the Axe and BIAS, respectively.
It seems people thus far tend to use it to...
Hello guys! Here is the thing, I am writing a song with a solo but I have absolutely no knowledge in music theory. It is actually my first attemp to write a guitar solo. I need your advices. During the lead part i play a pattern and I am not sure if the notes matches the rythm guitar (I play the...
I've decided to get myself a Randall RD45 Diavlo head and will be getting either a 1x12 or 2x12 cab to go with it. However, I really don't know what to look for when it comes to matching head wattage versus speaker wattage. I know I have to match the speakers ohms to the right output on the...
So, tone matching has been interesting me lately but I only know of two products that currently provide it.
Fractal Audio Axe-Fx 2 - $2199
Kemper Profiling Amplifier - $1975
Are there any other products out there that can do this? Hardware and/or software?
A FAS forum user has created 60 or so Tone matches and explains how to do so.
Load up the patch and the corresponding IR and profit. Some of these are very well done.
This may be old to some but...
I spent a couple of hours with Cliff this afternoon, and he was nice enough to come by to my place to let me check out 7.0, and to show me the right way to match my amp.
I'd gotten pretty great results already with tone matching and the current firmware, and I can say that with 7.0, the results...
Right now I've got a TZ in my basswood RG, which I've never really loved. Too scooped. What would go well with an Air Norton that's got less of a midrange scoop/notch out of it? D-Sonic?
I'm getting a Graptech system put in, and figured I might as well take care of the pickup issue whilest I'm...
I'm fooling around with the tone matching feature and I'm about to make a video. Here's a short clip of the tone matched diezel einstein. Pretty close, they're recorded on separate guitars of course so some sort of difference in sound is bound to happen. But works pretty well still...
So for you guys who have played with the new Axe-FX II Tone Matching feature, what have you found is the shortest reference sample that will make a decent tone match?
And is it better to try and match lead samples or chord samples?
For your Tone Matching pleasure, here are a bunch of clips to use for tone matching. Note that I'm not trying to play anything remotely cool/interesting/accurate here, and that there is no cabinet on these.
Again, this isn't a "listen to my awesome riffage" post. It's me on Sunday morning with...
CCRoyalsenders complete how-to:
And another from GuitarDojo, one of the FAS mods and beta testers. This is really basic - it's more of how to use Audacity (or any media player) to send the raw files to your Axe-II.
Ok, I've been slack on the pics and I've really had this since January. But still a thread is worthy.
First check out my dining table carpet.
Now how often one can say that you have a dining table carpet that screams VAN HALEN? :shred:
Anyways, I got myself a pedal that matches the carpet...
