Here I go again... I was wondering if anyone here had experience with these types of pickups, what else is out there APART from Dimarzio Super 3 and Duncan Invaders?
I have both and I do like them but I was wondering if you guys had suggestions for me.
From my experience:
- Duncan Invader...
I'm thinking it's too much limiting/compression on my mix bus (L2 and SSLComp), but I'm too inexperienced to know if what I'm hearing is digital distortion or if the plug-ins are doing their saturation simulation thing and I'm...
I wanted a Peavey Rock Master preamp since I heard of them some years ago. I didn't need it, but GAS is GAS.
The unit is pretty solid. It goes from a crunch to a really high gain and tight sound. The unique thing that I don't like, is that EQ is a bit silly.
They go from zero mids...
Anyone know if this exists? A pickup with tons of mids and treble like a Super Distortion but with a bit of a rolled-off low end? I like how the Super Distortion cuts, but the low end can be flabby.
To me, this sounds like it would be a JB. Would that be close?
Damn, I finally got around to firing up the DC-5, and as someone (Noodles? Mike?) mentioned, boost the mids on the regular EQ, then scoop on the graphic EQ........Holy. Shit. Awesome sound is awesome!
I can't believe I hadn't tried this before, though I'm generally afraid to fuck with my EQ...
I just thought I'd ask this, as I think a few of us on here run a rec in some form or another. Whether it's the axe-fx, another modeler or the real deal, where do you run your mids?
I'm wondering where people set it for what sound:
